Meet an Animator: Luca Tóth

Where do you live?

I live in Budapest, Hungary.

Did you study animation at a school or are you self-taught?

I’ve been studying animation for five years; started in 2008 at Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design where I graduated from the three-year-long BA animation course. I finished my studies at the Royal College of Art’s Animation Master course in London in 2013.

How long have you been animating, and what made you become interested in it?

I’ve been animating for six years. I’m interested in animation because it offers unlimited possibilities for visual storytellers. In my own time I make short animated films.

Do any particular styles or animators inspire your work?

There are many artists, animators and authors whose works are very inspiring to me. I’m greatly impressed by the style and stories of Igor Kovalyov, Wes Anderson and Michel Gondry.
